Parent Guide

Welcome to KidsGPT! This Parent Guide is designed to help you understand how to use our AI chat platform to provide a safe, educational, and fun experience for your child. If you have any questions, contact us at support@kids-gpt.eu.

1. Getting Started with KidsGPT

To begin, create a parent account on KidsGPT by providing your email and setting up a secure password. Once registered, you can add your child's profile with their age and interests to personalize their chat experience. You'll need to provide consent for your child to use the platform, as required by child privacy laws.

2. Setting Up Your Child's Profile

After creating your account, set up a profile for your child under the 'Kids' section in your dashboard. Enter basic information like their nickname (no real names needed) and age range to ensure age-appropriate content. You can also select preferred topics or assistants (e.g., Math Trainer, Storyteller) to match their interests.

3. Understanding Safety Features

KidsGPT prioritizes safety with strict content filters and moderation to prevent inappropriate interactions. Chats are anonymized, and personal information is not collected from children. As a parent, you can enable alerts for sensitive content and review chat histories to ensure your child’s safety.

4. Using the Parent Dashboard

Your Parent Dashboard is your control center. From here, you can monitor your child’s chat activity, set time limits, view conversation summaries, and adjust privacy settings. You can also pause or restrict access to certain features if needed. Access the dashboard anytime from your account.

5. Choosing the Right Plan

KidsGPT offers a free plan with basic features and a premium plan (KidsGPT Plus) with unlimited messages, access to all assistants, and weekly parent email updates. Visit the 'Subscription' section in your account to explore plans and upgrade if desired. You can switch or cancel anytime.

6. Encouraging Educational Use

Guide your child to use KidsGPT for learning by selecting assistants like 'Math Trainer' or 'Homework Helper'. Encourage them to ask questions about school topics or explore creative storytelling. Discuss their chats with them to reinforce learning and curiosity in a fun way.

7. Setting Boundaries and Time Limits

Use the dashboard to set daily or weekly time limits to ensure balanced screen time. You can schedule specific hours for access (e.g., after homework) or pause the service during bedtime. Discuss these boundaries with your child to help them understand the importance of balance.

8. Monitoring and Communication

Regularly check your child’s chat history and discuss their interactions to understand their interests and any concerns. If you notice anything unusual, use it as a teaching moment. KidsGPT also sends alerts for sensitive topics, so you can address them promptly with your child.

9. Reporting Issues or Concerns

If you or your child encounter inappropriate content, technical issues, or other concerns, use the 'Report' feature in the app or dashboard. You can also contact our support team directly. We take all reports seriously and respond quickly to ensure a safe experience.
